Penn State University has recently acquired multiple .XXX domain names in order to block their usage by porn websites .

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers approved the .XXX domain names in March ,2011. .XXX domain names are being used only for pornographic websites .The domain isn’t available to the public right now.It will become available to the public on December 6,2011.However,Penn State,like every other college and other organizations and businesses were being able to register their .XXX domain names in the Landrush Period .

Penn State University made the decision to buy multiple .XXX domain names because they were worried a rival school or a student might acquire these domain names and use them as porn websites .

Penn State University acquired four .XXX domain names : Penn State, PSU, Nittany Lions and The Pennsylvania State University.
