You can read the press release after the jump :
“Global registry services provider and poker fan Afilias announced that today is the start of the landrush period for the new “dot POKER” or .POKER top level domain. From March 10 through April 9, 2015, anyone may apply for the .POKER domain name they want. All applications will be finalized after the landrush period ends, and names receiving more than one application will go to an auction process. Open registration follows on April 21, 2015.
“The most popular names will likely receive multiple bids during the landrush period, so submit your application(s) today at your favorite registrar and ensure you have a seat at the table!”
.POKER is the only top level domain dedicated to the game of poker, the world’s favorite card game. Easy and fun to remember, it is the winning web extension for poker tournaments, products, players, news, tips — everything related to poker.
“Poker fans share a special language and many poker terms will make excellent .POKER domain names,” said Roland LaPlante, CMO of Afilias. “The most popular names will likely receive multiple bids during the landrush period, so submit your application(s) today at your favorite registrar and ensure you have a seat at the table!”
.POKER domain name applications are accepted now through April 9 when the landrush period ends. Applicants of domains that have only one application will then be notified and will receive their domain names. Applicants for domains with multiple applications will be invited via email to enter a private auction, where names will be awarded to the highest bidder.
Get in on the action now: Submit your application(s) to an authorized .POKER registrar today. For more information about the .POKER domain, please visit www.get.poker.”
ICANN: IDN ccTLD Request from Macao Successfully Passes String Evaluation

Details of the successful evaluation are provided here: www.icann.org/en/resources/idn/fast-track/string-evaluation-completion
The IDN (Internationalized Domain Name ) ccTLD Fast Track Process was approved by the ICANN Board at its annual meeting in Seoul, South Korea on 30 October 2009. First requests were received starting 16 November 2009. The process enables countries and territories to submit requests to ICANN for IDN ccTLDs, representing their respective country or territory names in scripts other than Latin. IDN ccTLD requesters must fulfill a number of requirements:
- the script used to represent the IDN ccTLDs must be non-Latin;
- the languages used to express the IDN ccTLDs must be official in the corresponding country or territory; and
- a specific set of technical requirements must be met (as evaluated by an external DNS Stability Panel comprised of DNS and IDN experts).
The request and evaluation processes entail three steps:
- Preparation (by the requester in the country / territory): Community consensus is built for which IDN ccTLD to apply for, how it is run, and which organization will be running it, along with preparing and gathering all the required supporting documentation. Requests are submitted through an online system together with additional material supporting the process at http://forms.icann.org/idn/apply.php
- String Evaluation: Requests are evaluated in accordance with the technical and linguistic requirements for the IDN ccTLD string(s) criteria described above.
- String Delegation: Requests successfully meeting string evaluation criteria are eligible to apply for delegation following the same ICANN IANA process as is used for ASCII based ccTLDs. Requesters submit string delegation requests to IANA root zone management:

.
With this announcement, requests from a total of 36 countries/territories have successfully passed through the String Evaluation stage. Of these, 29 countries/territories (represented by 39 IDN ccTLDs) are delegated in the DNS root zone, with the remainder either readying to apply, or actively applying for delegation of the string. Up-to-date information about the IDN Fast Track Program will continue to be provided on the Fast Track Process web page at https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/fast-track-2012-02-25-en.
ICANN looks forward to enabling the availability of non-Latin country-code domains for countries that meet the Fast Track Process requirements. ICANN will continue to accept new string evaluation requests in the Fast Track Process. Staff support is available to help all countries and territories interested in participating in the Fast Track Process. Please email

for any inquiries for participation.

ICANN: Reference Label Generation Rulesets (LGRs) for the Second Level
Purpose (Brief): During the new gTLD program’s Pre-Delegation Testing (PDT), ICANN has noted a large number of IDN table submissions. The IDN tables submitted by the new gTLD registries varied in the repertoire of characters, variant and contextual rules, and format.
On the request of the community, to facilitate and improve consistency of testing and stability of registry operations of new gTLDs, ICANN intends to develop reference IDN tables in machine readable format, called Label Generation Rulesets (LGRs) for the second level, for use in PDT and the Registry Service Evaluation Process (RSEP). ICANN is suggesting a process to ensure both linguistic and technical expert input and community review of these tables being developed. The community is requested to review and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the suggested process for the development of these tables, and propose any further improvements.
