CIRA Warns of Phone Call Security Scam Warning for Internet Users

[news release] The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has received reports of a phone call security scam using the CIRA name.

 

Microsoft Wins Two-Microsoft Related Domain Names in Arbitration

Microsoft won another UDRP case seeking to obtain the transfer of two-Microsoft related  domain names.The company submitted the complaint with the National Arbitration Forum on March 3, 2015.

According to whois records, both domain names were first registered in December,2014.

Microsoft owns many trademark registrations for the “Microsoft” mark all over the world. Therefore,it is more than obvious that the disputed domain names are confusingly similar to its trademark.Moreover,the company managed to demonstrate that the respondent has no rights or legitimate interest in the disputed domain names and that the respondent used the domain names in bad faith .

The arbitrator assigned to the case ruled in favor of Microsoft,indicating that the company has full rights to the disputed domain names .The respondent’s loss was also partly due to the fact that he failed to submit a response in this proceeding ,accepting these way Microsoft’s allegations as fact .
