Defender Security Company,has recently filed a Legal Rights Objection at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center against all the nine new gTLD applications for the new gTLD string .Home .

The objection was filed by Defender Security Company,which is also an applicant for the new gTLD string .Home,against the applicants for the new gTLD that are Baxter Pike LLC,Charlestone Road Registry,Dot Home LLC, Dot Home Inc.,Lifestyle Domain Holdings ,Inc,Merchant Law Group LLP,Top Level Domain Holdings Limited,Uniregistry Corp and .Home Registry Inc. .

The objection was posted on the WIPO website .

The type of the objection filed by USPS is Legal Rights Objection and has the following criteria :

i) takes unfair advantage of the distinctive character or the reputation of the objector’s registered or unregistered trademark or service mark (“mark”) or IGO name or acronym, or

(ii) unjustifiably impairs the distinctive character or the reputation of the objector’s mark or IGO name or acronym, or

(iii) otherwise creates an impermissible likelihood of confusion between the applied-for gTLD and the objector’s mark or IGO name or acronym.

All the objections filed so far with the World Intellectual Property Organization against a new gTLD application are Legal Rights Objections .Up until now WIPO received 37 Legal Rights Objections.
