ICANN : WEBINAR: Further Discussion on the CWG-Stewardship 2nd Draft Proposal for Public Comment
The Cross Community Working Group to Develop an IANA Stewardship Transition Proposal for Naming Related Functions (CWG-Stewardship) released its 2nd draft proposal for public comment on 22 April.
Following the opening of the public comment proceeding, the CWG-Stewardship Chairs hosted two briefing webinars on 24 April.
The briefing webinars on 24 April focused on the CWG-Stewardship work process, development of the 2nd draft proposal, and provided an overview of the contents and proposed structural model. The CWG-Stewardship Chairs will now host a follow-up series of webinars to brief interested community members on the content of the 2nd draft proposal, and to respond to questions that have surfaced since the briefings on 24 April. These two webinars may help further inform community submissions in time for the close of the public comment period on 20 May.
These two webinars will be held at different times to facilitate participation across time zones. The webinars will take place on:

Arizona Secretary of State Acquires Arizona.vote and Arizona.voto
Arizona Secretaru of State, Michele Reagan and the .Vote registry announced recently that they have launched two new websites for voters – arizona.vote and arizona.voto.

“Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan and the .VOTE registry are pleased to announce two new and simple web addresses have been launched for Arizona voters — www.arizona.vote and www.arizona.voto. These two new online destinations make it easier for people to locate information related to voter registration and election information.
The new domains of .VOTE and its Spanish/Italian/Portuguese counterpart .VOTO were designed to help elected officials, governments, candidates and organizations make it easier for voters to access legitimate election information on the Internet. Research shows only 24% of Arizona voters know where to go online to find voter information, voting locations, or candidate details. 72% want a simple web address like www.arizona.vote that’s logical and easy-to-remember.
“With the recent expansion of Internet domain names, obtaining arizona.vote and arizona.voto was a simple way to make it easier for people to find out information related to voting and elections in Arizona,” said Secretary Reagan. “Our site provides comprehensive details on things such as voter registration, polling places, election dates, and what to bring with you to the polls. With these two memorable domains, we hope when people think about voting, they think arizona.vote.”
“We are proud to have provided a dedicated space on the Internet for voter engagement,” said Chuck Warren, president of the domain registry for .VOTE and .VOTO. “The launch of the .VOTE/.VOTO domains is a big step forward in our country’s democratic process as better-informed voters will make better voting decisions.”
Pax.com Domain Name Sells for $200,000
The domain name Pax.com was recently sold for a whopping $200,000. The sale was brokered by Dave Evanson, a well known Sedo domain name broker.
Dave Evanson was the one who made the announcement on Twitter :
“Just sold PAX.com for $200,000!! Congrats to buyer and seller!!”
According to whois records, the domain name was first registered in June, 1997.The domain name had been registered under privacy since 2006.
At the time of writing this article, it i still unclear who acquired the domain name.
Congratulations to both the seller and the buyer.
