Is a mock website a waste of time for a domainer?

I stumbled across this site: www.pink.com (not mine)

At first it looks like a developed website but upon further inspection it's nothing more than a website full of ads trying to look like a developed website.

Rick Schwartz had blogged about this and called it a complete waste of time. He said that unless your website generates an income a domain investor should not be implementing that type of scenario.

Listing on the Uniregistry marketplace but using own or other landers. Any success?

Have any of you pointed your domain names to your own or DAN, Sedo make offer landing pages and still listed their domains at Uniregistry have had any success at Uniregstry?

Or as is often the case, most sales will come from the landing page that you are using?

I know that Uniregistry have good brokers and make good sales but are most of these sales when you point your names there or is it possible to make sales there without using their landing pages?
