Proposal From ICANN For Projects Contest
ICANN announced the selection of two of their projects for the online system of voting within the World Summit on the Information Society Project phase.
The names of the projects are “DNS Entrepreneurship Center” and “Investigating DNS Abuse / Misuse for Public Safety Community”.
The first one is related to an announcement that was made last year about supporting communities in Africa and the Middle East. ICANN was and continues to be involved in the domain names field in these two areas by providing expertise for the entrepreneurs and by helping them to implement their ideas regarding this industry.
The second project comes as a response to the request of Public Safety Communities who want investigators to be assisted in order to better understand how the DNS is undermined by cybernetic attackers and gather information about their activities.
