Romania to Introduce Yearly Renewal Fee for .RO Domains

Owners of  .RO domain names will pay an annual fee starting next year,if a recent Government proposal will be enforced. According to RoTLD, there are now 700,000 active Romanian domain names.

Owners of Romanian domain names will have to renew their domains in three months from when the decision will be published in the Official Gazette.This rule applies to all .RO domain names registered in the last 24 months.

Currently, a .RO domain name si about 50 Euros.

Those who have a .RO domain name, will be able to renew it for one  or two years, with payment in advance.
