.FI Registrants Will Need To Deal With Registrars In 2016

Domain name registrants will be forced to register their domain names only with registrars, according to an announcement on the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority website.

The changes, scheduled to take place on 5 September 2016, will see only registrars being able to make changes to domain name information. Therefore, registrants will need to in future to deal with a registrar in order to administer their domain names.

FICORA advises the change may cause additional costs to the registrant if they have not previously had a customer relationship with a registrar.
