“David Clements and Toby Clements announce an ambitious new project, Brannans.com
Today, brothers David Clements and Toby Clements announced the launch of Brannan’s, a domain name auction house and brokerage service committed to selling domain names as brand building tools for businesses.
“End-user marketing and sales is about building relationships with business owners and their key decision makers,” said David Clements, Brannan’s Founder and CEO. “According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, businesses with less than 500 employees account for 99% of the independent enterprises in the US. These businesses represent about half of the 141 million US workers currently employed. When domainers refer to the term end-users, they really mean these businesses and to sell to them you’ve got to build rapport first. Only then can you educate them on the value of using a relatively new asset class for branding and marketing.”
“Really,” David continued, “the bottom line is that we didn’t see anything in the market like we were looking for so we decided to build it. Our first priority is to speak to domain investors. If you own or manage a large portfolio and we haven’t met or spoken or emailed in the past 2 months, please reach out to me at your earliest convenience. I’d love to help you sell some domains at our upcoming first auction and I can also talk to you further about our targeted business brokerage division. We know how to build relationships effectively and we are going to invest more in our existing and our potential clients than anyone else and it is going to pay off for you and for us.”
“I haven’t even told you the best part. We work with all of the other auction houses and brokers in the industry. So, you win using us if you’re a domainer because we work with other industry veterans to get the job done for you. We know the landscape. We’ll work hard and we’ll fight hard to get the job done for you.”
Toby Clements added, “I’m very excited to be partnering with my brother David on this new venture. Brannan’s offers additional value and opportunity to domainers and especially to my current newsletter subscribers at TobyClements.com. It gives me another tool to market domains without getting things too overcomplicated or watered down.”
Brannan’s is proud to announce strategic relationships with Escrow.com, a licensed and regulated escrow company that reduces the potential risk of fraud by acting as a trusted third party to collect, hold and disburse funds according to Buyer and Seller instructions, and Proxibid.com, a marketing and technology company that helps connect more than 2,500 auction companies and hundreds of thousands of bidders worldwide through the world’s largest real auction marketplace.
Premium domain names are being accepted now for Brannan’s first auction and it’s simple to submit. Simply Click Here and fill out the form. If your submissions are accepted Brannan’s will start marketing them immediately. Deadline for submissions is March 28, 2012 and the first auction starts on April 2, 2012.
About Brannan’s:
Sam Brannan was a publicist, merchant and publisher in San Francisco. When his customers began paying for goods in his store with gold found ‘in their spare time’ Brannan immediately bought up all available pans, shovels, picks and other prospecting supplies. Then he published a story about the gold in his newspaper and he ran up and down the hills of San Francisco holding out a vial of gold dust shouting, “Gold! Gold! Gold, from the American River.” This chain of events started the California Gold Rush.
There are 220 million registered domain names and in our experience over 10% of those domain names are for sale. Our value proposition to small and medium sized businesses is that we are domain industry insiders and we know most of the large domain portfolio owners. We will always have premium domain names in our auctions and we also know about domain names that will never be listed for sale publicly. It doesn’t matter if you are with a small business, medium sized business or a large corporation we will help you learn more about domains names, evaluate your branding options and acquire the right domain name(s) for your business.”
