CENTR launches the call for nominations for its 2015 CENTR Awards

CENTR today launched the call for nominations for the second edition of its CENTR Awards, which aim at highlighting country code top-level domain (ccTLD) registry projects, teams and people that make a difference in the domain name industry.

The goals of the CENTR Awards, which are open to all full and associate CENTR members, are to focus on the positive aspects of the ccTLD industry, to show recognition for innovation, to encourage sharing of best practices, and to provide an opportunity to challenge and motivate employees and project leaders.

“I am very proud to be involved in the CENTR Awards again this year, especially given the success of the first edition in 2013”, stated Carolina Aguerre, LACTLD General Manager and Chair of the 2015 CENTR Awards Jury. “I believe that these Awards are a key opportunity for registries to showcase their extraordinary accomplishments in the last couple of years”.
Members of the Jury include Carolina Aguerre, General Manager of LACTLD; Leonid Todorov, General Manager of APTLD; Barrack Otieno, Administrative Manager of AfTLD; Cristina Monti, International Relations Officer at the European Commission; Kurtis Erik Lindqvist, CEO of Netnod; Bertrand de La Chapelle, Director of the Internet & Juridisdiction Project; Wolfgang Kleinwächter, ICANN Board Member and Professor for International Communication Policy and Regulation at the University of Aarhus, Denmark; and Kim Davies, Director of Technical Services, IANA.
The five award categories for this year include the Security Award, the Research and Development Award, the Marketing Award, the Corporate and Social Responsibility Award and the Contributor of the Year Award. The CENTR Awards ceremony will be held on 7 October 2015 at the Palais des Académies in Brussels, Belgium.
