.РФ DOmain Name Registrations Approaching 850,000

.РФ , the first Cyrillic domain name, is approaching 850,000 domain name registrations.  .РФ turned four last year in May.

Russia’s new country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) and the world’s first Cyrillic domain, .РФ, is open for registration for almost five years, since May 12,2010, and is coordinated by the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ.

At the time of writing this article, there are 835,897 registered .РФ domain names,out of which 651,161, or nearly 80% of the total, are delegated domains, which is 5% more than last year, when the number of .РФ domain names grew by 3.8%.

Functioning websites are located at 185,056 (22.6%) .РФ domain names and another 112,314 (13.7%) are at the design phase. A total of 16.2% (132,972) are Parked domain names, and 11.2% (92,238) are used for redirecting.

Individuals registered 76.4% of .РФ domain names and legal entities 23.6%.
