Eurid,the company behind .EU domain names,has recently released its Progress Report for the second quarter of 2012.The report shows that .eu domain name registrations grew by 7,6% year over year.This means one of the best annual growth in .eu domain registrations.

The reports also shows that :

• Lituania has the highest annual growth with a 30% increase of .eu domain name registrations comapred with the same quarter of 2011
• Malta has the second highest annual growth with a 29% increase
• Austria has the third highest annual growth with a 23% increase
• Registrations grew by over 10% in other six European countries : Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia

“.eu has maintained healthy registration rates for the first six months of this year, a fact reinforced by the Q2 2012 results.I am heartened by this growth which shows that Europeans continue to want .eu domain names despite the economic and political crisis still affecting Europe,” said EURid’s General Manager, Marc Van Wesemael.
