“The Vice President, Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), Mr. Mohammed Rudman, has kicked against the hosting of .NG, which is the country’s domain name by both local and international registrars abroad because of the huge capital flight associated with it and the security challenge that it poses to the country.
Government, Rudman said, must urgently do everything possible to stop and address the hosting of the country’s domain name which, according to him, is one of Nigeria’s economic resources abroad.
According to him, Nigeria loses huge monies in the form of capital flight because almost all the domain names that are registered are actually hosted outside the country.
Huge amounts of money as capital flight are moving out of this country for the payment of that hosting, he said.”
